Vincent Harris is a thirteen year old boy whose safe, contented childhood has abruptly come to a catastrophic end. Following an unforeseen event of inescapable tragedy, we find Vincent catapulted into a dire situation marked by unpredictability, which is now the definitive hallmark of his tortured adolescence.

As he struggles to recreate a sense of normalcy and redefine what “Home” means, a glimmer of hope comes in the form of new guardians, James and Sylvia Harrington. The couple welcomes Vincent into their polished and picturesque Florida household where two other children around his own age, Owen Harrington and Sarah Bowman, complete a brand new family dynamic.

Yet, through his budding friendship with Sarah and away from the prying eyes of the outside world, Vincent learns the harsh adult lesson that sometimes things are not always what they appear to be.

Bringing with him the only memento of his former life he possesses, Vincent sentimentally clutches an ominously strange book entitled “Varryck.” In his peculiar attachment, the protective relationship he harbors for this tome sets the stage for an unearthly fabled narrative of genuine metaphysical terror.
